In this role, you will build relationships and create trust with the client so you can identify and solve their housing needs.

River Bluff sells high quality homes, we offer turn-key customer service, and we provide service before, during and AFTER the sale. The sales consultant will join a highly skilled team. We are all focused on customer service and satisfaction.

We help the customer design a home that fits their property, the northern climate, their needs and their budget. We offer customers a “one-stop shop” home buying service. With customer service as our top priority, we help the customer with everything from dirt work to move-in.

Sales Center and Location

The River Bluff “Design Center” sets the stage for a sales consultant to prosper. Our Design Center and the seven (7) new model homes give customers many floor plan choices along with price points. Every home will be heated and air conditioned. Every home will be fully trimmed and staged with furniture. The homes will range from a two-story home with a loft to a ranch home, a cabin model, a starter home and a single section home.

Fort Pierre is centrally located and River Bluff is a destination point. We are located at the crossroads of US Highways 14, 34 & 83 along with SD Highways 1804 & 1806. Our location allows River Bluff to help solve housing needs for all South Dakotans. River Bluff also serves northern Nebraska, southern North Dakota and eastern Wyoming. This trade area is helpful to selling more homes.

Salary and Benefits Description

River Bluff knows the value of a good employee and are willing to back that up with compensation and benefits. Most important is that River Bluff is a good place to work. The specifics include:
  • 100% paid health insurance for employees (high-end Blue Cross/Blue Shield of South Dakota)
  • The sales consultant after working one year – can easily make $70,000 to $125,000 plus benefits
o Generous tiered commission – the more sales, the higher the commission rate
o Base salary ($26,000 per year)
o Advance on commission for first year ($1,800/bi-weekly, or $46,800 for the first year)
  • Annual trips – qualification based on hitting sale targets
o Some past destinations include Aruba, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic
  • Paid Vacation (80 hours/year)

Requirements
The right candidate will be a person who can sell.
  • Energetic, self-motivated sales professional with exceptional interpersonal, listening and communication skills
  • Driver’s License
  • Integrity and strong customer service skills are essential
  • Computer skills including Word, Excel (entry level), e-mail and ability to learn CRM software

Responsibilities:
  • Meet with walk-in customers
  • Answer phone call from potential customers
  • Contact new leads that are assigned to you
  • Follow-up and stay in contact with customers
  • Use River Bluff’s Customer Relationship Management software (CRM)
  • Prepare estimates on new homes in an accurate and timely manner
  • Communicate with other staff and factory representatives
  • Show model homes and describe the construction of the homes
  • Describe River Bluff’s one-of-a-kind service and quality
  • Communicate with customers to determine the wants and needs of their home
  • Assist customers with choosing upgrades (flooring, cabinets, fixtures, etc) in River Bluff’s design center and keeping them on budget

Typical Hours – 40 hours per week:
  • Monday thru Friday - 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM with an hour off for lunch and one day off during the week
  • Saturdays 8 AM to 2 PM – Must be willing to work some Saturdays
  • Other times by appointment
